The Book of Romans - Part 5

In Adam, In Christ

Romans 5 shows us the profound difference between what we have in Adam and what we receive in Christ.

Through Adam, sin entered the world, death began to reign, and judgment brought condemnation. But through Jesus Christ, God gives grace, righteousness, justification, and life.

Because we have been justified by faith, we now have peace with God through Jesus Christ. We can rejoice in the hope of God’s glory, even in suffering, because God is at work in us. And we can rejoice because, through Christ, we have been reconciled to God.

Our hope is not found in ourselves or in our ability to overcome sin. Our hope is found in Jesus Christ, whose one righteous act brings justification and life.

In Adam: sin, death, and condemnation.

In Christ: grace, righteousness, justification, and life.
