The Forgiving King

Jesus’ parable of the unforgiving servant confronts us with the immeasurable mercy of God and the call to forgive others from the heart.

Biblical forgiveness does not mean pretending the wrong never happened, immediately restoring the relationship, erasing consequences, or instantly removing the pain. Instead, forgiveness releases the offense to God, reflects the mercy we have received from Him, and reveals Christ’s sanctifying work within us.

As we pray specifically, confess our sinful responses, and remain surrendered to Christ, forgiven people learn to forgive.
